Matthews Kitchen Refacing with Custom Carpentry

Two-Tone Kitchen Transformation in Matthews

The Dunne family came to us with a kitchen that needed more than a color update — they needed smarter storage, a custom island that made a statement, and a complete refresh of every surface they saw every day.

Their goal: a kitchen with the look and function of a custom-built space, delivered without the timeline or price tag of a full renovation.

What We Did

We refaced every cabinet door and drawer front with new shaker-style doors, giving the kitchen a clean, modern profile. The cabinet boxes were sprayed in Benjamin Moore White Dove — a warm, versatile white that brightens the space without feeling cold.

The island took a different direction entirely: Sherwin-Williams Black Fox, a deep charcoal that creates a bold two-tone contrast that anchors the kitchen visually.

Custom Carpentry That Changed the Space

The carpentry work on this project is what truly sets it apart:

• Custom vent hood — designed and built above the stove top to match the new cabinet profile, replacing what had been an exposed range hood
• Large pull-out drawer boxes — installed throughout for maximum storage and organization
• Enclosed pull-out garbage cabinet — keeps trash hidden behind a door that matches the rest of the kitchen
• Custom pantry closet — built from scratch on the far left of the kitchen, adding significant storage that didn’t exist before

The Result

The Dunne family’s kitchen went from functional but dated to a showpiece — a two-tone design with smart storage at every turn. The White Dove and Black Fox combination is one of the most requested looks we see, and this project shows exactly why.
